Symptoms Related To Toxic Black Mold

Posted by Howard Mouldar at 24th June, 2009

Toxic black mold is a fungus that can grow on almost any material and can have some very serious health effects, hence the toxic label. This type of mold appears powdery or downy and will grow on clothes, carpets, wood, HVAC systems, furniture, leather, food, walls, air conditioners and many other items. Black mold loves moisture so areas that are susceptible to water and leaks are ideal mold areas.

Individuals that suffer from allergies or asthma may be the first to notice that black mold is around, as they will have symptoms first. Toxic black mold can even poison humans though this is extreme. As the mold grows it breaks down its food, or the material it is growing on, and when the material is broken down the mold then converts it into volatile organic compounds. It is when these compounds are found at high levels that poisoning occurs. These compounds particularly affect the nervous and respiratory systems.

The following are some of the more common symptoms associated with toxic black mold; internal organ pain, damaged respiratory and digestion systems, allergic reactions, mucous membrane irritation, dizziness, bleeding in the lungs, nausea, hives, cough, infertility, urinary tract infections, irregular blood pressure, asthmas, lack of concentration, lethargy, memory loss, rash, red eyes, and headaches.

The best ways to prevent toxic black mold is to control it. Moisture is the most important growth requirement for this mold so you need to monitor the moisture levels in your home. You may need to invest in some dehumidifiers. You should check and make sure your air conditioners, ventilation ducts and heating systems are clean as toxic black mold in these systems can be very dangerous.

The most common places for this mold to grow are in bathrooms. You should regularly clean your bathroom and check appliances, curtains and tiles for mold growth and remove it at the first sign. You can also use air purifiers to clean the air in your home as they reduce mold spores that are present in air. You can also use mold resistant paints and other anti mold products to keep mold from growing in your home.

If toxic black mold is in your home then you need to seal of the area, or room, of growth in order to contain the mold. It is possible to spread mold by cleaning if rooms are not sealed off properly. Using an exhaust fan to create negative air pressure is a smart idea, as it will suck the air containing mold spores outdoors. If you need to clean your air conditioner or heating system you should turn it off first.

Can Money Be Made In 2009 Real Estate?

Posted by Peter Rosen at 21st June, 2009

In 2009 the real estate market may be as scary as those monsters of the silver screen that spooked us as children, but to others it is a chance to thrive. For those who are seeking to buy property whether a house or building the lower prices are a plus. Those looking to rid themselves of property are not seeing the same benefit as they are losing money. There are many reasons why one may be in favor or against the market in 2009. It will bill hard for one to sell their property and those looking to buy are finding it to be their market.

Say your are a new couple looking to by your first house, a few years ago you probably would not have been able to afford a new house. Prices a few years ago were almost untouchable to those starting out. Now in 2009 it has become a buyers market, so that couple now has the opportunely to get their dream home, without being dragged over the coals. So, in this instance they would be in favor of the new market.

On the other hand if you are a family who has decided to sell your house for the chance to move on for career or other reasons, getting the price you feel you deserve is going to be a hard task. The Value of your house from a few years earlier (which you may have expected to rise) will more than likely drop. This will definitely put people in a hard place, thus theses are the ones who will not take to the markets plummet. The solution here is to hold on to your property if selling is not a necessity right now.

Business owners may also see both sides of the argument as they can benefit or struggle due to the new market. If you are looking for a spot to start up or move your business to then you might want to buy your building as oppose to rent. If you can afford to buy you will save more in the long run. Landlords who have seen the value of their property drop may be tempted to raise the building s rent to compensate. So, for the business owner to pay the rent that a landlord has established may no longer be feasible.

All-In-All holding on to your property or purchasing it at the low end is your best investment if you are in the financial mean at the current time. The real estate market will eventually rise again and your purchase price now will surely rise as well in time. Throughout time buying real estate has always been considered the best investment and should prove to be in the future.

Let lights Do All The Talking

Posted by Scott Rodgers at 21st June, 2009

Home is not just any other place. It is a place that stands symbolic of our persona and our existence. Before we step out in this world, we are protected and kept safe within the confines of our home only.

In order to add further touches to their houses, a lot of people seek professional help of Interior designers and other experts. One very common method of revamping house appearance is to get the entire lighting works re-done up.

There are a host of electric light systems that are currently present in the market ranging from wall sconces to chandeliers to lanterns and lamps and these can be installed in the house with the help of the electricians.

We hired a local electrician to help us buy and install a grand chandelier since we believed it was a must for our living room. Not to pinch our humble pocket was our primary concern along with that the chandelier should enhance the beauty of our living room.

There were a plethora of options available in the market. The one that was made of Persian glasses and had a Persian craftsmanship written all over it was the one we liked and chose for our house. Installing it in our living room was a tough task though bringing it to our house was easy.

The electrician first tied the chandelier to a strong cord and pulled it up the hook on the ceiling from where it would be hanging. Once it was pulled up, he tied it to the metal hook that was fitted for this purpose.

Now came the wiring part. He extended the connecting wires from the nearest electrical outlet and connected it to the main bulb holder from where the power connection for rest of the small bulbs would be distributed.

In a matter of minutes the remaining small bulb connections were fitted once the main connection was established. Then all the bulbs were fitted into its respective holders. Soon, our living room was changed into a Persian kings palatial court once the switch was on and the chandelier was lit up.

Information On Toxic Black Mold

Posted by Lee Dobbins at 21st June, 2009

Toxic black mold is a dangerous mold that can grow on any surface. It prefers areas that are moist, have moderate temperatures and receive light. Toxic black mold tends to appear as downy or powdery and can grow on or in air conditioners, HVAC systems, walls, wood, food, carpets, leather, clothes, furniture and almost any other object or material. Leaks and other areas that tend to have a lot of condensation are prime spots for black mold to grow.

Some of the more common symptoms of toxic black mold poisoning are infertility, internal organ pain, urinary tract infections, damaged respiratory and digestion systems, irregular blood pressure, allergic reactions, asthma, mucous membrane irritations, lack of concentration, dizziness, lethargy, bleeding in the lungs, memory loss, nausea, rash, hives, red eyes, cough, and headaches.

Control and prevention are the best ways to avoid toxic black mold. Black mold needs moisture to grow and it is possible to control the level of moisture in the air in your home. Dehumidifiers can be placed strategically to get rid of air moisture. You also should check your heating system, ventilation ducts and air conditioners at least once a year to make sure they are clean. Black mold growth in these pieces of equipment can be particularly dangerous.

Bathrooms are the one area in the home in which mold may frequently occur if regular cleaning is not done. All areas of the bathroom should be checked frequently and when mold is found it should be removed immediately. I would recommend using bleach! Air purifiers can also be used to remove mold spores from the air and are great if you have asthma or suffer from asthma. You can also decorate your home with mold resistant paint and other anti-mold products to reduce the chance of mold growth.

Areas that have toxic black mold should be sealed off and cleaned immediately. It is important to seal off rooms in order to contain the mold so it does not spread. Exhaust fans suck the mold form indoors to outdoors by creating negative air pressure. Additionally you should turn off any equipment you are cleaning so as not to further spread the mold.
